I drank the moon's reflection

I drank the moon's reflection will be my third film exploring English chinoiserie in relation to postcolonial thinking. The work will look into the mounted Chinese vases in and from Harewood House. The historic objects were made in China, brought to Europe by the Dutch, mounted by the French and came to Britain as a result of the French Revolution. The English upper class bought these gems in Parisian auction houses from their French counterparts whose life and material possession were in danger amid the national chaos. I am planning to have Beau Lascelles (1764-1814) speak about his lavishly collecting of these curious artefacts with respect to impermanence, as the Lascelles family is originally French and some of the vases later ended up in auction houses, yet again.
