Chun-yu Liu 劉 純 聿 is a visual artist working with video. Her practice is informed by her reading of Cultural Studies, personal Taiwanese background and exploration of the audiovisual medium. She is interested in oral history and lived experience of the Chinese diaspora. 

At the moment she is a PhD researcher based at Manchester School of Art as a recipient of the prestigious Manchester Metropolitan University Vice-Chancellor Scholarship. Her research project explores chinoiserie and its artistic, cultural and historical connections with the East. Originally she was trained to be an abstract painter. She was born in Taipei, Taiwan and lives in Manchester, UK.​
